FWIW I don't often send attachments. When I do, it's by rearrangement or with accompanying text that's elaborate enough
that it can't be faked.
I don't get much spam (my ISP has a filter that I can set for any severity of inspection) but I get lots and LOTS of
infected email. Norton picks all that up.

Hi All,
I was afraid of this. We have a spammer harvesting addresses
from our list archive.
Just an hour after posting my first message from my new (to this
list) address, I started getting the same kind of spam that started
shortly after my last move from email.com to cox.net. In the
previous 10 months that I've had this address, I had never received
a single piece of SPAM.
Also, I wonder if someone with Jim Sower's address has an infected
computer. I recieved a message, through the list, with no text -
just an attached file: C:\WINDOWS\TEMP\nsmailPU.gif
I'm not on a computer I can put at risk, right now , so I haven't attempted to download and scan to see if it's legit.
Sorry to take up list bandwidth this way, but it _could_ become
important.
