Guys,

I tried the cone from Jegs on my original Tangential muffler. Observers said there was no noticeable difference. I am working on a "Swiss" muffler now, and I'm planning on trying it again.

p.s. I am closing in on the 60 hr mark now. All systems good. Cooling is still working a little too good 145-150 degrees cruise. Waiting for hot weather!

Hi John,

I have often thought that perhaps two of those cones in a 3" tube might provide sufficient lowering of the noise level.  However, having two tubes, that would mean 4 cones and a bit expensive.

Tracy has had very good luck with the Flow Master Hush Power II.  It has about the best streamline combined with good sound suppression.  Tracy reported it not quite as good as the Spintech on the sound suppression but better with less drag (and less cost).

Lynn, you may have the small idea for a round spintech in your Borla.  I had the thought after looking at the cone in Jegs hot rod catalog.  Has anyone tried one of these cones, the smallest one is 3" in diameter and is $69.  If it would stand the hammering it could be mounted in a 6 or 7" piece of stainless pipe and should not be weight restrictive.  JohnD

I think this will be rejected out of hand. Just enough flow to get off idle but no more.  So now we have a 4" Borla stainless.

For the lower RPM the smaller core diameter would be OK. But the least amount of restriction possible is far better.

The Spintech worked. It just had a bad shape. How about a round Spintech?
