Subject: [FlyRotary] Re: Renesis Oil Pan

My question is, how much air will be in the oil after the gearbox. Will it be pretty clean, or will it be frothy and full of air? Any thoughts?? Ed, Tracy, anyone else with lots of wisdom on the subject?? Thoughts???

Hi Ben,

FWIW, my bet would be that the oil from the redrive will be whipped up pretty well.

Yes; and that’s a good reason for having the drive drain come in above the level of the oil in the pan; otherwise the frothy oil in the line will back up as it “floats” on the oil backing up the line from the pan.

Just a reminder,

Al
