Jim,

I wouldn't worry about a ride; one of us will surely pick you up if needed.

There's a 200hp Velocity RG in New Orleans that flies off a grass strip regularly. Tracy's strip isn't *that* short is it?

Jim,
I'll be arriving from the North via I-10 but would be happy to drive down to Cross City to pick you up.  The timing may be a bit of a problem though since I'll be driving about 750 miles to get to Tracy's; it's hard to plan a trip that far by auto with an exact arrival time.  However, I know that I'll be at Tracy's by 3:00 PM EST Friday, so if you plan your arrival after that, just call Tracy's and I'll be happy to drive over to Cross City to pick you up.

Thanks,
Ken Powell

You're right.  Cross City and perhaps Perry-Foley are the
obvious candidates for linking up.  Both are right on the 4-lane
and about as close as one can get to Shady Bend.  I can get
there almost any time and will be delighted to coordinate with
anyone who can give me a ride the rest of the way.
Thanks ... Jim S.

Cross City (CTY) is only 15 miles away. Often those who fly in
at Shady Bend will drop in at Cross City for gas.  If you
can't arrange the timing right, I'm sure someone will
volunteer to hop over and pick you up, or drop you off.

Guys,
I would LOVE to make the fly-in, but I can't operate a
Velocity at Shady Bend.
I can, however, land at the nearest suitable (4000' hard
surface) and hitch hike
the rest of the way.  Is anyone driving there (preferably
Friday noonish) that
could pick me up at some airport he passes near on his way
there, and drop me

back off Sunday on his way back?  Or someone overflying some
nearby airport who
has an empty seat?
Hoping I can catch a ride that last 30-40 mi .... Jim S.

If possible, Ed, make a vhs video of the presentation.  I
would buy one at a
reasonable price..:0).
Hoping to make the flyin, but not sure as yet,
