Hi Monty;
    I'm using the Ford cores and I did just what you are thinking. I drilled through the baffles with a 7/8" bit. Common wisdom seems to say that the GM cores flow better than the Fords, but I believe that is because someone cut one open at sometime and said "that can't flow enough", and concluded that further testing was not needed. (sorta like someone's official test of the EWP). I did some actual flow tests of the 2 different types using an EWP and a mag tube flowmeter and found slightly better flow with the Ford cores. (the full report can be found in the archives).
    I believe I blew out the metal shavings using compressed air and it took a little effort.

Todd,

One test is more valuable than an infite number of theories. :-)

Did you drill out the side holes on the baffle or just down the center? I'll look up your post in the archive. I am also thinking that with these things in the wings with the tank on top and bottom it might be a bit challenging to get all the air out of the top tank. Most of you guys are running them with the tanks on the side so the air can migrate to the top.

Thanks,

Monty
