For a race car, I would feel ok with a soldered tank.  For an airplane, I think I would either TIG, Oxy-acetylene weld, braze, or silver solder it.

That is what I used. So long as its empty, there will be no problem. I soldered the neck on.

It has been on the race car for 6 years now.
