Lynn, you said you were running the blue Aeroquip hose (assuming this is marked FC332), and that it was on your oil pressure loop.  You aren't using a stock oil pump are you?  Would your pump have the same violent pulses that the stock pump used to kill my old evap core cooler? 
My pump is much more powerfull (pulse wise) than the stock pump. It buzzes loud enough to hear above the engine at idle (2,000 RPM). I was not aware of the above warning.
The hose and fittings (dash 12) between the pump and the filter stand has been in place for
7 years without a problem. The pump uses a pressure section similar in size to a big block Chevy. I suppose I should change that particular piece of hose, just to be sure there are no problems.
