Its not been since I got home from my adventures
in June that I last flew . But, today with blue, sunny skies and cools
temps and with two new main gear, high energy brake system, 450F
flashpoint brake fluid and my updated EC2, I had a great flight.
Tracy's new algorithm or MAP that he updated my EC2 with required no adjustment
except at the lowest idle setting where it was a bit rich. Elsewhere in
the operating spectrum the mixture control required no twitting. Have not
had to touch the mixture/map program knob.
The engine runs smoother and I can pull the power back to
4.5 GPH flow and still maintain 115 mph without the engine missing.
Previously the minimum was 5.5 GPH below which it would start
missing.
So I don't know (yet) what Tracy is doing different, but
it really made it a pleasure. I had planned to spend some time sitting on
the ground running the engine through the fuel map settings and adjusting them -
just wasn't necessary.
Since I will have a 24 mph headwind component tomorrow, I
should have no problems on the way to Florida {:>), Looking forward to
seeing many of you there.
