Here's a picture I came across when looking for a more current picture of my oil cooler.
You really have to watch what tools are at hand when asking Tracy to help work on your airplane!
Not kidding - we really used that saw-saw on my airplane!
(After flying with the oil filter reversed for hundreds of hours I finally decided to reverse the in and outputs to the oil filter. That required that the adapter plate be rotated 180 degrees and a bit of it just had to go. You may ask how I got oil pressure for so long with in and outputs reversed. Using the Perculator (?) filters if you pump long enough the membrane breaks and allows some oill flow. No so with Fram filters. So at the last oil change before this picture I had to put the old used oil Preculator filter back on. The final strroke of genius on my part on that evolution was to use the same filter after reversing in and outputs. This of course flushed all the accumulated particles in the filter back into the engine and left lasting tracks in the babit on the bearings.)
