Gets boring when everything
works right, doesn't it :)

read your damn log, spoon feed me the condensed version :-)
OK. Sure. Bend
over.....

you running the snot out of that thing, or just taking it easy still? What
sort of MAP are you getting at altitude?
OK, just for
you....
Lately I've been
taking it fairly easy (relatively speaking :) doing other tests. It
doesn't give me as much kick on take off as the stock unit, but on the plus
side, it does seem to last longer :)
I'm running
around 44-46 MAP on take-off (just to get my big-assed prop turning) then
backing off to around 40 for the climb. I'm getting a good
160kt TAS cruise at 36 MAP at 10k (and around 8gph). I HAVE
run it at around 42 MAP at 11,000, but only for about 10 minutes. That got me a
235 kt TAS (190 Indicated) at 6100 rpm and there's plenty more boost
available if I ever summon up the cahonees to use it. I'm keeping the
waste gate fully open at all times, not that this holds the boost back much. So
far no complaints from the turbo, no missing parts on landing, nothing spat
at the apex seals etc. etc.
I've already got the lid open for the new EFIS
installation.
I've been toying
with the idea of using a Blue Mountain EFIS Lite ($2795) as the head for
a KNS-80 as an interim basic
IFR solution.
I've only got about 50 hours on the plane now,
and I'm trying to wait until 100 before I start rev-5.
I'm catching you
up despite the shitty weather.
The turbo is still in the lead.
I have a slightly
used one you can have at a good price :)
John (still on
rev 1 :)
