Testing is good. I had occasion, last week, to help a friend - a Long EZ builder/driver - take apart his brakes because they had been dragging ever since his last brake job. It turned out that the O-ring, sold to him as "Buna-N", swelled up and was binding the piston. AFAIK, he's using standard 5606 brake fluid (it was red, anyway).

If you want that warm fuzzy feeling, buy some new seals for your brakes, and
throw them in a jar of your favorite brake fluid for a week or so. I soaked
lots of interesting items in brake fluid when I had my RV-8. [snip]
