Would the inlet in the center of the can with a small outlet on each end work?

Can you make one of them things with a 90 degree bend, L shaped to get length ? jofarr

Keep in mind that the 24" length wasn't cast in stone, and was just an example of using the space you had available.   I've thought about using a 90 degree turn, but if I really needed 24", I could have that by making a few more bends in the exhaust pipe from the engine.

What I will hope to do, is come straight out of the engine, into the muffler at the front end, then let the muffler extend straight back toward the prop.  That would be an easy 18".  The muffler could go farther forward, but would require some monkey motion to get the exhaust pipe forward to the front end of the muffler.

I also wondered if having space in front of the inlet pipe would be of any benefit.   In other words, the inlet pipe would enter the muffler 6" from the front end, and the exit would be in the back.  Just don't know if that extra 6" would be of any benefit.

Cheers,
Rusty
