Hi Bill, my take on this is that the present ratio is not suitable for constant engine rpm at 6000, I think we should be looking at slowing the W/P/ alternator down to about 4000rpm. The Auto Electrics people say that car alternators are rated to give their max power at 3-4000 rpm. As for the W/P, it is designed to cool at the minimum road speed with all loads drawing on the engine, ie, air con, lights etc. so 3-4000 is fine for the W/P I am not sure what you mean by a 'cup on the flywheel'.
