It was Ed's idea, not mine :)   (How IS Ed doing, anyhow?)

Autozone have a 6 * 4 K&N air filter for $54. The also have a 14 * 16 of the same material for $34. I guess the little one is for a BMW :) I bought the big one. I cut a hole in the side of my plenum about 7 inches long and 2 inches high at one end, 6 inches high at the other. I cut the edge strip off the filter, cut the material for my required trapazoid shape, then RTVd the edge strip back on. I could make three filters with the14 * 16, so it works out at $10 each. I then made a fiberglass duct to join up with my existing fiberglass intake pipe. The final job is to install a flapper valve of some sort to give me an alternate air source in case of a blocked filter.

John (Almost good VFR this evening).
