I was researching the failure on John Slades EC2 and found some disturbing things.

Nice catch Tracy, and I guess we should thank the guy under the big dark cloud for blowing this up for us :-)

Can you recall anything about the timeframe of these changes. For example, were any of these changes made before the redesign from square box to rectangular box?

As you could have guessed, my latest unit SN-509 (in the garage) has the bad choke. I'll have to check the several year old square box unit in the plane, but I just hate to pull that top skin off without an EM-2 chip to install while I'm in there :-)

Could you go ahead and send me one choke for SN-509, and at least I'll have it in hand when tear the plane apart to check the older EC-2?. I'm guessing I won't need one, but at least I'd have one in hand if it does, and I could put it back together, and wait for a second choke for the newer unit.
