Hi! Bill
I'm just checking it's possibilities out at the moment, I remove the stator , diode rectifier & flywheel off a 1975 650 Mercury outboard, it is rated at 6 to 8amp (other models go to 14 amp) the stator is 16.75 mm & the flywheel 37mm. I haven't assembled my RD-1C yet, so I don't know how much space I have to work with. I'll keep you posted on my progress.
Georges B. ( I want redundancy)

Tell me more about the outboard motor alternator project. Sounds
like a good approach.
