All I use for carb heat is a block
under the carb that has water passages through it to heat the carb
base.
I have it there as regulations say
you must have carb heat but I have never had carb ice and never use it
but my radiator is mounted ahead of the engine and preheats the air
around the carb and the air going into it except for when the air ram
is opened up.
I do turn the hot base heat on when
flying into sub zero temps to heat the air for better fuel atomization
and combustion.

What size scat tube do I need for the 48 Weber for carb heat. Is
the 2" large enough or do I need to go to 2 1/2".
