Rusty, Only the nozzles would be inside the box, I'm sure that is what you are thinking.  
 
Don't be too sure :-)  I was thinking of how nice it would be to have all the fuel contained in the box, not just the end of the nozzles.  I'm pretty much given up on that idea already though. 
 
I would try to get the bell mouths as far from the port as possible as very short intake lengths don't seem to work as well with bell mouth injection. I had this conversation today with a drag/circle track engine builder. Of course he was not referring to rotary engines but he knows a lot about very high performance intake design. Jerry  
 
I was also toying with the idea of making the intake box as wide as possible, so the internal air horn portions of the tubes could be varied in length.  I wonder if that's what Tracy was planning to do?  
 
I've also got to think about filters too, or risk being keyboard whipped by Leon :-)  
 
I have to admit that I haven't quite ruled out keeping my current intake, and feeding it with a small supercharger.  I really like the ATI procharger C-1.
