NOP means not operating or something to that effect.  I "think" it always says that until the engine cranks.
Nope. It should read zero when both units are on prior to cranking. One reason would be that the EC2 isn't getting power.

Right you are John (bet you don't here that very often <g>)!  The NOP goes away a couple seconds after turning on the EC-2.  Of course in my case, that was several hours later, after charging the battery because I left the EM-2 on last weekend and ran it down.

I'm also paying for all those cracks about your oil leaks, because mine persists.  It appears to be around the front cover, so I liberally sprayed the area with CRC, and slathered on the miracle gray sealer.  Hope it stops, or it will just have to leak, because I'm not pulling that cover now.

Rusty (5 hours major modification period flown off- released from test area again)

Hey, Rusty....glad to hear your 5 hours have been flown off. I reluctantly won't invite you over to Mobile, as I recall the last time you visited here, your return trip was the one where you lost all your oil and started this whole engine rebuild, etc.  Take care.  Paul Conner, stealing your colors
