gen oil filter- bypass valve?
There's a spring loaded
valve inside most filters, that allows the oil to bypass the filter element
when necessary. It's actuated by differential pressure across the
element, and is unaffected by overall oil pressure.
Er, of course; I knew thatJ.
Or
do what I did. Full flow remote dual filter block with K&n HP-1
filters (with high pressure bypass); and only filtered oil going through the
cooler and back to the engine.
Sort of like shooting a
rat with a cannon, but no doubt it will get the job done :-)
Yeah, but I’ll have to reload a lot
less often.
Al
Beats shooting elephants with a BB gun.
