As for your compression, have you actually measured it?  Are you sure you're not using too much, or too little oil in the gas (can't remember if you're pre-mix, or injected). 
 
I hope you get it sorted out without having to resort to pulling the engine.

My noise was a lot to do with my headset:>)  The skinny plastic on the earmuffs had deterioated over the years and had no passive attenuation. Am flying with a neighbors and traded my old ones in on the latest Lightspeed 30XL3G.

My compression isabout 70 psi during cranking, YUK!  I use premix 2 stroke penzoil of 1 oz per gallon.
