Note that fuel system threads are one of
our most popular, and everyone has an
opinion.
I think
the fuel filter threads are Saginaw not NPT.
LOL! I meant threads as in
message subjects :-)
Mark
Steitle reported and I observed his engine would restart after running a tank
dry and switching to the other with the bypass in place. It would not restart
before this without releasing pressure ahead of the pump.
I'll give you this one,
especially if your pumps are not low in the system so gravity can feed
them.
Twice
in my life I have experienced partially clogged fuel filters in a car. Of course
I was much younger and I am sure they was not serviced properly. The idea was to
provide redundancy so either pump could use either (both) filters. Also a nice
place for sensors. However, it added extra connections. :(
We could play a hundred
what-if questions, but say you get some crud in your tanks. You're flying
along, slowly filling up both filters. Eventually, you start to lose
fuel pressure, so you turn on the 2nd pump. It has to pump through
the same two clogged filters, so no joy. That's why I'd put
one filter on each pump, but that's just my
preference.
Education and recreation right?
That's what they say, but I only
get the education part :-)
