Hi, Herb....thanks for the kind words.
Everyone at the airport says it was incredible piloting....I'm contributing it
to a lot of it to luck. Should have bought a lottery ticket that day, also.
I am very interested
in the Ellison throttlebody. I am going to do some more inquiries and
homework. Please hold on to it for me for a few days while I do some
homework and try to educate myself in order to make a more informed
decision. It is very nice of you to offer to help in this matter.
sincerely, Paul Conner

Super cool job on the
emergency landing, Paul. You seem to have lots of good suggestions to check
out, but if you are interested in the Ellison unit, I have one you could use
to play with. I have lots of hours on several units in 0320 Lyc Long EZs and
like them. I did some product testing for Ben Ellison 20 years ago when the
company was new. Some say they will not support the 13B, but I don’t know why.
They will certainly flow enough fuel/air mixture to support 160hp or more on
the 0320 Lyc. They do not have a float bowl and will run right side up, upside
down, or sideways (frontwards or backwards also)
And only need fuel, a
mixture control, and slide throttle control. No power or programming required.
If you want to borrow the unit or ask questions, call 901 833 1630. Herb

Re: Bad day at the airport
Does an Ellison throttle body have
injectors, or is it a substitute for a carburetor? Paul

I'll bet an Ellison Throttle Body could be made to
work also. Just a single one. Of course you'de need to
construct the custom intake manifold for it.
I don't care to
have this much fun again anytime soon. I'm torn between a carburetor
and a Cessna. Paul
