Ok, I'll fess up. I'm using a 2" (or so) length of 1/8" thick 1" wide ALU bar. One end bolts onto the garden tractor battery terminal. The other end has a 5/16" (?) hole for one of the switch terminals. All of this "hot side" is wrapped with electrical tape (or could be painted with the fluid isolator stuff) to prevent any dropped tool or wire or what have you, from shorting the hot side to ground.

Finn, I've been saving websites and e-mails re using manual battery
switches. Haven't bought one yet. How do you mount it on the battery
terminal? It that the way it comes or did you buy some aftermarket hardware
and make a gadget for putting it directly on the terminal?
Or, do you mean "mount it 'at' or 'near' the terminal"? i.e., short (few
inches at most) battery cable with std round hole end that goes on the
terminal and other end with ring terminal to go onto the post of the manual
switch, like the one at www.batterymart.com, part number ACC-41860?
