I'm using a 2" (or so) length of 1/8" thick 1" wide ALU bar. One end bolts onto the garden tractor battery terminal. The other end has a 5/16" (?) hole for one of the switch terminals. All of this "hot side" is wrapped with electrical tape (or could be painted with the fluid isolator stuff) to prevent any dropped tool or wire or what have you, from shorting the hot side to ground.
