Hi
Dave;
I find this is a common scam with E-Bay. The seller is
attempting to make up the shortfall of his selling price by padding the shipping
costs. As an example, I bought my injectors off E-Bay from a guy in San Diego
and he then wanted $42usd for shipping with USPS. I used the shipping calculator
on the USPS site and using a very generous weight estimate, came up with
~$18usd. The seller and I settled on $30usd for shipping, but when it showed up
it had $8usd postage on it. This is only one example, it has happened other
times as well.
Currently, I'm expecting a package from Leon which has been
shipped express courier and IIRC the cost was $54aud, however your turbo
manifold is somewhat heavier.
Assuming a weight of up to 10kg (22 lbs) this guys cost estimates look to
be bang on the money. He's not trying to pull any scam at all. Hope this
helps.

I
just bought a TO4 manifold that I think will fit off of e-bay but it is
located in western Australia.
The
problem is that the guy wants A LOT for shipping, here is what he quoted
including insurance.
AIR EXPRESS- 1 WEEK- $139.00AU
AIR ECONOMY- 2 WEEKS- $118.00AU
BOAT- 12 WEEKS- $84.00AU
Each
AU$ will cost me about $.80. But that still seems pretty steep.
The guy also wants a money order instead of some other way to track the
payment. Does this sound reasonable to those of you who know about
shipping from australia? Its there a better way to make the
payment? Anyone know of a better source for these
manifolds?
Thanks,
Dave
