I have seen early versions of Belray (early 70's) do as Bernie says. Also, Castor bean based oils will also settle out when the temp falls below freezing. I don't know why, but I used to run this stuff in the early 70's and have seen this happen. Not important to this conversation except to show that sometimes unexpected things happen.
Lastly, good 2-stroke oil has very strong detergents to fight carbon - this is the environment that the oil was designed for. I can't speak to the effectiveness of MM except that a lot of people obviously like it.
