Bill,
I got my SFB kit in '99 and it came with premolded gear doors that were
bubbled to facilitate the outback gear option. I found them to be a very
nice inclusion....and really accomodated the extra width of the outback
gear. The panels were foam core with 2 bid per side and the trim line was
scribed right into the panel. It was easy to trace the panels on the lower
skin and make the cuts. I think it's one of the many good things about
Lancair. I got all the extra changes incorportated in my late kit.

I don't know the answer to why your outer gear door blew off...but how did
you order another one from Lancair? The door is part of the original
premolded fuselage belly pan.
Wouldn't you have to fabricate another one yourself (not an appealing
task)?
