I shimmed the main gear pivot bracket rearward with 1/8 inch thick phenolic
sheet. (I say this to illustrate there was room enough between forward and
aft spars to do this, on my kit) I then lowered the rear bracket (aft spar)
to make the retracted wheel more parallel to the top skin. I achieved
enough clearance to not need to remove core material from either the gear
doors or the top skin. I have the outback gear. Try rearrange the aft
bearing blocks ... I had to reverse mine (on rear spar) to achieve the above
installation. Work with the rear attach bearing bracket in different
attitudes. Be careful to get the pivot bearing facing the proper direction.
