When trying to install the gear there seems to be not enuff room to achieve a
parallel with the tire, i.e., the aft (and forward) spar seems a tad narrow.
It is as if I need to remove some of either the aluminum plate that attaches
the gear to the rear spar or sand off some of the aft spar (NOT!!). any body
have/had the same problems? I would guess I need about 1/16 to 1/8 more
distance between the two spars to get a good perpendicular tire.
Thanks so much,
Vic
[It sounds as though you may have mounted the GM1 brackets too far outboard.
I just measured the placement of the hard point that mounts the GM1 on my
airplane and see that its outboard edge is about 2-7/16" inches from
the inboard face of the BL50 rib. The outboard edge of the GM1 bracket
(the one that mounts to the forward spar closeout) should be flush with the
outboard edge of that mounting pad. Please let us know if this helps at
all... there's always more than one way to solve a particular problem.
Good luck.
