Don't really know how to respond and add the snippet of the posting I'm
answering but it was on the liquid cooled LTIO 550 from Jeff Liegner on
the 16th I think.
I live in Mobile, home of Teledyne's factory, and the head field rep for
the company (name withheld to keep his job) told me not to buy the
liquid cooled motor for my IVP. He stated that the factory has still not
solved the waterpump failure problem with that motor. It is a low
volume high pressure system and the waterpumps are only averaging ~50
hours before failure. This actually is fairly consistant with what
mechanics in the field are reporting on the "Waterwagons". They are a
lot simpler to deal with in descent, and they will maintain rated power
to a higher altitude, but the pumps have to be watched judiciously.
