A little confused here on your post. I operate my engine LOP for range,  and to keep the temps low. Increasing MAP up to 36" at 15 GPH is *NOT* my idea of operating at LOP for efficiency. 29" MAP gives me 15GPH, increasing MAP will, of course, result in a higher fuel flow, which decreases my range. I only lose 20 KTS TAS by running 58% power (I know very well how to calculate HP). Occasionally I'll bump the HP up to 75% to impress somebody, to demonstrate 305 KTS TAS. Lots of fun!!!
