Ric,
I agree with Jim Frantz... rigging or building problems are not necessary
for a spin entry.  I reported on my "inadvertent spin" last year and judging
from the responses, both on this site and direct, it has happened to a number
of us.   My circumstances were a slow entry to a clean stall at 9,000feet, CG
forward and a touch of right rudder to "coordinate."  I have done a lot of
spins as an instructor, and this one was sudden, if not violent (as in snap
roll).  Before hand there was very significant "wallowing" around and my
analysis is that the ball was lagging what the airplane was actually doing at
the time of applying rudder and the rudder exacerbated the situation and
stalled the right wing.  Recovery was in less than three-quarters of a turn and
about 800 feet of altitude loss.  The wallowing sensation was distinct and
perhaps a better stall warning (to me, now) than mild buffet you get in some
aircraft.
The experience raised my priority for the Angle of Attack installation.
Jim... what's a retrofit like and where do you put the ports?
