Regarding First Flight questions. Dave M. has hit the nail on the head. Flight testing is a risky side of flying. Statistics show that too many expirmental accidents happen in the first ten hours of flying. The FAA's intent is to limit the danger to people who don't have a need to be in the aircraft. One pilot and no one else is all that is required in theses things. A tape recorder will work just as well recording parameters as a person in the cockpit next to you. A chase pilot or a pilot on the ground with a handheld can relay checklist information if you should need it. Consult with an EAA Flight Advisor or Test Pilot. If your own insurance compnay won't insure you during this phase or places limits on you then you should NOT put another soul in the aircraft. If you are unfamiliar with flying the airplane then you should participate in the company's flight training program or find someone who can give you some instruction in their aircraft or a similar type aircraft-- Bonanza, Mooney. I can't understand people who spend the money on these aircraft that we do, yet want to shortcut the flight test and training phases. Penny wise and a pound foolish. Jeff Edwards
