I already decided to build up the spar web to the dimension that was measured and cut on the rib. ie, the 3/8" in question. It worked out nicely. I only ran it spanwise about 6 or 7 inches toward the middle of the aileron. The 2 bid that will close out the aileron after bonding should be sufficient filler for the 1/8" gap remaining the length of the span towards the center rib. I was certain that messing with the aileron control horn geometry would have negative effects, so I opted to fill it in. Thank you very much for affirming my suspicions. I have much more confidence that the aileron will function much better that way.
