The Morane-Renault diesel (230 hp turboed) has been flying for a while and is supposed to be ready for market later this year--but the price is reported at ~$50,000.US. The specs are pretty interesting. 40% lower fuel consumption, 3000 hr TBO, much lower parts count, still 210 hp at 18000 ft--. Once there is some competition from one of the several others (inc TCM-Gap) perhaps the prices will get within reach.
