Looks like I owe an apology to everybody on this list and to the makers of Smooth Prime. I have discovered that  the primer a friend had used on his Pulsar with horrible results _WAS NOT_ Smooth Prime as Smooth Prime was not made at that time . I am in the process of contacting those who might know of the primer he used (my friend was killed in an automobile accident so I can't ask him). If and when I find out what the Primer was, I will post here.
