On Sept 1 I had the nose gear collapse on my IV.  Luckily the only damage was to the prop.  The cause was bent nose gear pivot links.  The old links were 0.185" thick and the new links provided by Lancair were 0.250" thick.  Apparently there has been a problem with bent links that caused Lancair to redesign them.  I feel this should be posted so that all IV drivers can check their links and replace them with the heavier model.  The replacement will require both the pivot links and the drag link since the connecting bolts are different.  I strongly urge everyone to check their machines and replace if necessary.
