I spent quite a bit of time shopping around for these optical level
switches today and was unable to locate any which I would put into the
category of "cost only slightly more"... the low end of the spectrum seemed
to be about $75 (an item located in the online Newark catalog) to $175 for
what looked to be the same thing from a company called KRS Electronics
Corp. in Dallas. In either case a variance of 2.5X to almost 6X the price
of a float switch seems a bit (hack) steep to me. Any sources out there
for these things that are truly just "slightly more" than a ($30 ACS) float
switch? <Marv>
