Peter Field mentioned diesel engines to all of you looking into the V8's for your IV's. You IV builders have it easy, Lancair is now working with NASA to develop a diesel engine for the IV. http://www.lerc.nasa.gov/WWW/AST/GAP/
I wish they were doing this for the 360. In short the two cycle diesel is lighter for the HP, it can handle altitudes better, jet fuel is cheaper and mileage is better, and it is more reliable because it is a simpler design than a gas engine.
