The LIV that had the inflight oil fire--two fatalities--had aluminum fittings on the turbos,  which melted in flight, sprayed oil on the turbos, and  ingnited.  My Mooney had an AD on this subject--not from melting problems--but from vibration fatigue, and required that the fittings be tested with a magnet and replaced with steel.  I believe that the Mooney directive was on the fuel line.

To answer the question as to whether aluminum fittings in non-turbo areas would melt,  the answer is no, the problem was definitely heat from the turbos.  Be sure to use fire sleeve on all lines in this area, as well as on your fuel lines in all the other areas.  Did  I use aluminum fittings on oil lines in other areas?  No, I didn't.
