We had this discussion awhile back and I think I still concur with a
suggestion from one of the contributors. I think that I'm going to get
a small version of a fireman's axe and use that to chop my way out if I
have to. The problem that I would have with kicking out the rear
windows is that I would never fit through the rear window anyway. I
would need something that would allow me to chop through plexiglas and
fiberglass if I had to escape. I'm going to have one that I can velcro
to the baggage compartment somewhere. In addition, I'm going to invest
my money in a smoke hood and a good fire extinguisher. I'll be a
regular flying fire department...hehe.

I have been thinking of handles mounted to the aft cockpit windows that
would allow you to pull the windows off from inside. This could be
accompanied by a bright red arrow placards outside, "EMERGENCY - Kick In
Window".
