Then I built up a big glob of micro around the handle area on the side of the fus. Before the micro cured, I pushed the handle into it to create a handle shaped depression. After cure and a bunch of sanding I ended up with a handle that fits into a perfectly shaped depression. Now that the airplane is painted, the handle is flush with the fus side and I didn't have to worry about compromising the structure. Don't look too bad either, almost like I knew what I was doin'.
