I'm afraid I'm not exactly familiar with all of the discussion regarding the difficulty of bucking standard solid AD rivets in the pushrod application but I can understand that it may be quite tempting to use some other fastener for the job. In the forum I see talk of screws, pop-rivets, Cherry-Max, etc. Certain applications in aircraft require EXACT duplication of the manufacturer's instructions. Not too long ago there was a widely publicized fatal helicopter crash caused by a repair made to a tail section using aircraft quality blind rivets (such as Cherry Max) rather than solid rivets. If you don't want to follow the standard instructions CALL LANCAIR.
