Thanks so much for the response, really useful  information.

On cowl modifications... I'm assuming that the cuts made are on both sides
of the exhaust, i.e. four 10" cuts total and four 1.5" cuts total. Good
plan, better than my idea of forming shapes similar to the Dolly Parton
cowls and then bonding them on.

On the air box, I found the website of the guy who makes them, so I'm
pondering that as an option.
