I'm thinking when I get around to buying my engine I would like to have it a TSIOLF -550 D This would be a 550 as it is today with the liquid cooled cylinders and fadec installed and would also be duel exhaust and cross flow injection. I see that TCM should put out only one 550 and this should be the best combination as I see it . The fadic system would allow the alternator backup to be in the mag mounts and a large 110 amp alternator on the front in 24 volt only . This would allow for de-ice as well as power to run the plane in light icing conditions . I still have not heard about the difference between the size of the Liquid and the air cooled engine . Are their any cylinder differences to consider in the cowl ? The other question is what size is the radiator . Is the profile of the liquid and the air cooled the same?or how close are they to each other in size ?
