Ron,

I tried the cowling as delivered from the factory.  Not enough cooling.
Ended up making faired openings around the exhaust tips to open up the air
flow.  My cowling ended up looking similar to the turbo IV lower cowling
except my fairings don't go as far forward as the IV.  If I had known earlier
I would have tried to use the IV cowling.  I was told that it would
interchange.

I have since flown about 140 hours and have solved other cooling problems
with an electric powered cowl flap.  This helps greatly on really hot days
when oil temperature could be a limiting factor on climb performance.  Would
be glad to discuss this further if you want.
