I wonder if any of you have removed those tabs from the door edges ?
They interlock both nose gear doors in locked position.
Sometimes they jam together preventing the gear doors to close completely.

I was thinking to make them clean flush all the way down.

Hans,

I installed mine originally with soft rivets and promptly lost two of them, so I reinstalled with hard rivets and have not had further problems with the tabs staying on. Based on the wear on the tabs over the past 1200 flying hours, I’d say that the doors are subject to a lot of vibration--probably from air loads? My only “2 cents” is that the tabs logically reduce the vibration on the doors. Without them, this will be absorbed by the hinges (probably not a problem) and the linkage that opens/closes them. The ball joints and pivots would probably wear much faster, so would bear watching. If the vibration frequency is low enough, you’ll likely hear and/or feel it as a “buzz,” but  if it’s of high enough frequency, you probably won’t detect it except in accelerated wear of the components. My two cents…

Bob
