My original plea for help got caught in the weekend hiatus so today I decided to try bleeding the air from the highest point in the system where the lines pass into the nose gear tunnel. There was a LOT of air in there and I ran out of Mil-PRF-5606H to replenish the pump reservoir before I could get it all out. I'll have to wait until another quart arrives from ACS to continue the process. In the meantime, I've decided to permanently install a bleed valve at the high point of each line so I won't have to crack the fittings and then sop up the fluid that runs all over the cockpit floor. I ordered two Parker 2KLC6 3000 PSI brass needle valves from Grainger. We had "high-point-bleed" valves on the Space Shuttle, so very soon my plane will too.
