I feel badly for your = uncommanded nose gear=20 retract last November and the damage it caused. I had a similar = incident in=20 my hangar, and a crushed lower cowl, when attempting to un-lock my=20 older gear pump back in 2004.
I went back and read and = re-read your=20 post last November listing the symptoms leading up to = your incident=20 and can't come up with any explanation other than the relay = contacts=20 staying shut. Although my Bosch relays have functioned without a = problem=20 for over ten years, I'll be wary and consider replacing them. =

Sound advice Bill =96 I = would humbly=20 state that the same advice applies to the Bosch relays you are using. = As you=20 may recall, last November my up relay welded itself shut, causing an=20 uncommanded gear retraction on the ground. The resulting prop strike = grounded=20 my plane for 50 days at a distant airport. Insurance covered the = expense but I=20 will be paying higher premiums for years to come. I replaced the Bosch = relays=20 with the Lancair-recommended heavy duty automotive style contactors. I = still=20 hold my breath every time I turn on the master switch.
